SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS 2019

Updated: Jul 31, 2019

And just like that Splendour is done and dusted for another year. All the hype and excited that I've been feeling for months feels like its gone in a second even though we spent 4 massive days out the beautiful North Byron Parklands. Nights ended at the Tipi forest even where I thought I couldn't dance anymore due to my knees feeling like they were gonna break due to bopping up and down too much and running up the hill to the Amphitheatre stage. Mornings spent getting ready with friends in our little jazzed up campsite with tunes roaring and drinks pouring to get us excited for the day ahead. and everything in between felt like a blur. Splecnour is one of those festivals where you blink and it's over. I said it last year and said it again this year, once day 1 is done the festival is over and it truly felt like that again this year. Although there are some key memories that pop out between the craziness and blur of splendour.

Tonnes and I's gig at the Amphitheatre is one that i keep coign back to as it was the most heart lifting and exciting gig as it opened and started the festival off in the best way possible. It was just a little special to be there as the crowd filled in to support as we all danced and sung along to her to songs.Hayden James gave me goosebumps that I haven't felt in ages when this choir popped up to sing "No where to go". This really was a special Splendour moment that you don't get at any other festival. And of course Tame Impala smashed everything out of the park with their psychedelic show which featured an amazing light show that captured the whole crowds attention as we stared at Kevin and then followed the lights to the back of the Amphitheater.

Saturday calmed down thank goodness as Friday was filled with almost too much so it was a relief to sleep in take the morning easy. We drifted in and out of the festival killing time before the anticipated set of Wolf Alice came on. And we definitely had another festival moment there. Childish Gambino closed the saturday with a gig high in energy vibes and excitement as it was a set many of us had waited a long time for. And he truly did not disappoint as I am now a massive fan and can't wait to see him live again.

Sunday came and went too quick as it always does. The day started off slowly with the girls from Erthlings kicking off the day GW stage and the beginning of the last day. We had Matt Corby serenade us along with special guests of Tina Arena (may have had a little fan girl moment) Georgia from Broods, Meg Mac, Joy Ride, and Jarryd James to sing Miracle Love to close his gig. Plus the beautiful Ziggy Alberts which captured the GW stage again with the many sing alongs and preaching about the environment to his dedicated full hearted fans.

And with that Splendour is done and dusted for another year. As the Splendour blues kick in its time to start prepping for next year xx
